Requirements to Coach with the Ramblers

We believe that coaching recruitment for our Grassroots and Youth soccer programs is more than just the act of finding enough volunteers each year to put with our players. It is vital that these individuals see coaching as an extension of themselves (I am a coach!) and therefore engage in the following:

  1. CORE VALUES - Align with Canada Soccer, PEI Soccer and Eliot River Ramblers principles of developmental appropriateness for children and youth
  2. LEARNING - Pursue appropriate training, certification and knowledge needed for the age and stage of player being coached

CORE VALUES

First and foremost, Ramblers coaches must align their coaching philosophy (i.e., their beliefs and values) as well as their coaching actions with the NCCP Coaching Code of Ethics.

LEARNING

To become a coach with the Ramblers you will need to complete coaching certification. The certification requirements depend on what age level you are coaching at.

Delivered by the Club Technical Director, the primary outcome of this training is to ensure what is learned in the required certification courses transfers into successful use on the field with the players. This training is delivered in a hybrid manner, comprising online and in person components. The training is ongoing throughout the season and designed to fit into the time commitments that coaches are already making to the Club.
