Coaching Certification Course Schedule

Respect in Sport Activity Leader Training is an online education program for head coaches, assistant coaches, managers and helpers to assist them in the prevention of harassment, abuse and bullying in sport.

You can enter and exit the course as you like. It takes approximately 3-4 hours. The cost is $30. Successfully complete the certification and the Club will reimburse you the $30.

The NCCP Making Ethical Decisions training for head and assistant coaches is instructor-led so it is offered on certain dates at certain times. Based on course availability, you will need to make yourself available for one of those dates and times. The course is delivered online. The evaluation component of the certification is also done online but is self-directed so that you can do it on your own schedule. 

The training takes 3 hours and the online evaluation is about 30 minutes to one hour. The course fee is $30. Successfully complete the course and the online evaluation and the Club will reimburse you the $30.

The NCCP Making Headway for Soccer course is offered online and takes about 60 to 90 minutes. Designed to help head and assistant coaches gain the knowledge and skills required to ensure the safety of your athletes, this soccer module will cover:

• What to do to prevent concussions 
• How to recognize the signs and symptoms of a concussion 
• What to do when you suspect an athlete has a concussion 
• How to ensure athletes return to play safely

There is no cost to complete this course.

This course is offered online and takes about 15 to 30 minutes. After completing the NCCP Emergency Action Plan module head and assistant coaches, will be able to:

• describe the importance of having an emergency action plan (EAP);
• identify when to activate your EAP;
• explain the responsibilities of the charge person and call person when your EAP is activated;
• create a detailed EAP that includes all required information for responding to an emergency.

There is no cost to complete this course.

Canada Soccer’s Learn to Train certification (U11 head and assistant coaches) consists of completing 2 hours of online training followed by a 4-hour Practical On-Field Workshop. There is no pre-requisite and no evaluation required to pass. The on-field sessions are delivered by PEI Soccer and will most likely take place at the Norton-Diamond Soccer Complex in Stratford or at the UPEI Turf Field (you will be informed by PEI Soccer of the location at a later date).

Learn to Train on-field practical delivery, tentative dates May 16 and May 23, 2022 (Coaches must attend both sessions).

Cost is $30. When you have successfully completed this course including the on-field session, the Club will reimburse you the $30.

Canada Soccer’s Soccer for Life certification (U13 to U18 head and coaches) consists of completing 2 hours of online training followed by a 4-hour Practical On-Field Workshop. There is no pre-requisite and no evaluation required to pass. The on-field sessions are delivered by PEI Soccer and will most likely take place at the Norton-Diamond Soccer Complex in Stratford or at the UPEI Turf Field (you will be informed by PEI Soccer of the location at a later date).

Soccer for Life on-field practical delivery, tentative dates May 3 and May 10, 2022 (Coaches must attend both sessions).

Cost is $30. When you have successfully completed this course including the on-field session, the Club will reimburse you the $30.

Canada Soccer’s FUNdamentals certification (U7 and U9 coaches) consists of completing 1.5 hours of online training followed by a 3-hour Practical On-Field Workshop. There is no pre-requisite and no evaluation required to pass. The on-field session is delivered by PEI Soccer and will most likely take place at the Norton-Diamond Soccer Complex in Stratford or at the UPEI Turf Field (you will be informed by PEI Soccer of the location at a later date). 

FUNdamentals on-field Practical delivery, tentative date May 30, 2022.

Cost is $20. When you have successfully completed this course including the on-field session, the Club will reimburse you the $20.

Canada Soccer’s Active Start certification (U5 coaches) consists of completing 1.5 hours of online training followed by a 2-hour Practical On-Field Workshop. There is no pre-requisite and no evaluation required to pass. The on-field session is delivered by PEI Soccer and will most likely take place at the Norton-Diamond Soccer Complex in Stratford or at the UPEI Turf Field (you will be informed by PEI Soccer of the location at a later date). 

Active Start on-field Practical delivery, tentative date June 6, 2022.

Cost is $20. When you have successfully completed this course including the on-field session, the Club will reimburse you the $20.
